The free daily country-guessing game — find the secret country of the day
Globe Hunt is a free daily country guessing game. Type any country to make your first guess, and the world map reacts with a distance "heat" colour: yellow means your guess is far from the secret country, orange and red mean you are getting closer, and a country turns green when you find it. There is no limit on guesses — the goal is to reach today's country in as few as possible.
Pick a difficulty before you start. Easy draws the answer from around 30 well-known countries, Medium widens the pool to about 60, and Hard can pick any of the world's countries — including small island nations and landlocked states. Everyone can still guess any country; difficulty only changes which country is the hidden answer. A new secret country appears every day.
Say the secret country is Italy. Open with Brazil and it lights up yellow — thousands of kilometres away. Guess Egypt next and it glows orange: you are closer. Try Greece and it turns deep red — very close now. The colour only tells you how far each guess is from the answer, not which way to go — but by seeing which countries on the map turn warm, you can work out which region to aim for. With a red-hot Greece on the map, its neighbour Italy becomes an easy final guess.
Open with a large or centrally located country — Russia, Brazil, or a big African nation — to cover ground quickly and reveal which part of the world is warm. Once a region heats up, guess its neighbours to triangulate the exact country, the same way you would zero in using "hotter and colder." On Easy a good target is three to five guesses; Hard often takes six or more because tiny countries are harder to pin down. Your streak and guess distribution are saved on your device so you can track your progress over time.
Because the map rewards understanding where countries sit relative to each other, Globe Hunt is a natural way to build a mental map of the world — which countries border which, how regions cluster, and the real distances between them. When you win, the game reveals the country's capital city and a fact about it, so each round adds a little more to what you know.
